Grab your cards - Ann Demeulemeester

I have a serious hard spot for Belgian designer, Ann Demeulemeester. As part of the Antwerp 6 she is known for her radical and forward thinking designs. I'm not planning to go into to much detail about her but I'll let the item I'm gonna show you do the talking.

As part of the ongoing Grab Your Cards feature I present to you a pair of shockingly reduced Ann Demeulemeester cap toe oxfords at myhabit.com, Amazon's luxury sale site. The site offers free membership so it shouldn't be difficult to take advantage of this deal. Full leather construction sits on top of stacked heels, made in Italy with a not-too-round toe. These are a perfect compliment to any man's wardrobe and especially at this price, should not be passed up.

Red Wing x Nigel Cabourn

American shoe maker, Red Wing and British menswear designer, Nigel Cabourn join forces on a line of boots. Cabourn is known for his non adherence to trend and spectacular outerwear and Red Wing are known for their commitment to high quality footwear, and together they have created some truly classic staple boots. Featured with army green Harris Tweed lining and deep green leather shoelaces and eyelets, The Munson Boot is available in two colors: Light Brown Hawthorne Muleskinner and Dark Chocolate Muleskinner. Everything that has put into these boots contributes to a quality product that lasts.

Mark McNairy 'New Amsterdam' FW12

A week today I wrote a post about Mark McNairy's collaboration with New Era on a pair of derbys. Yesterday, I posted a video with a behind the scenes look at his upcoming collection for Woolrich Woolen Mills. Today, I present to all you McNastys (something I've seen people throwing around) a preview of his upcoming footwear range for the 'New Amsterdam' Fall/Winter '12 collection from this year's Pitti Uomo.

Everywhere you look these days you're going to see at least one example of chunky soled footwear. Today on my excursion to the sales I saw many examples ranging from boots to regular dress shoes like these Vibergs.

Ohhh the hotness

Jeffrey Campbell whose shoes make me go oooooo. The Fall/Winter 2011 lookbook (specifically for Downtown girls) captures the effortless style of the fashion forward. Rightly so, the editor remarks "she'll  no doubt be influencing the fashion landscape for seasons to come!". "She" of course is the Downtown girl, the girl influenced by everything and anything around her. She's unapologetic, fierce and legendary.

The metallic collection of scooped ankle cowboy boots scream innovation alongside the platformed Creepers. This brand knows how to roll with a trend. It was obvious that the traditional brothel creepers weren't just any old fashion-fad , they are here to stay. Gucci certainly thought so. Their Lana Fab Platforms in red Tartan have me feeling the Christmas cheer already. What really gets me about this brand, is their consistent style and quality. Family owned and small they've quickly made their name known in the industry, I think they are definitely gonna be around for another 10 years. Here's hoping. Oooooh the hotness.

Pointer

Pointer bag made in conjunction with Sandstorm who work with National Geographic so they feature Kenyan leather and are manufactured outside of Africa in Portugal.

At the Jacket Required trade show early last month Pointer showed their latest offering.

Gareth Skewis, one of the founders of Pointer Footwear, has decided to tier the brand into three different lines ranging from the highest price point called Rivington to a more widely accessible price point, they've done this in order the branch into new markets, working with different designs, price points and manufacturing facilities hoping to, in his words "become a proper footwear brand".

Pointer's take on dress shoes is represented, vibram soled desert boots and vulcanised shoes also (manufactured in China).

I am excited to see the collection in full and perhaps own something Pointer made myself.
