Nepenthes have uploaded imagery for the upcoming Engineered Garments collection for FW12. Borrowing inspiration from military uniforms and aspects for workwear, the brand have produced a truly timeless collection - you don't run the risk of the clothes looking outdated and they are sure to last you for years to come. Using weighty fabrics such as cotton, wool, denim, and corduroy and using various variations on blue they create a collection that is coherent and masculine.
Pattern is still present in this collection, as you'd expect in a time when print is rife you're unlikely to be disappointed with Engineered Garments offerings - camo and florals are present and accounted for. I think my favourite thing about this set is the adherence to the military aesthetic. Much of the menswear out there now are slim cut and fitting whereas this collection eludes that direction and opts for more wearable fits - you can actually move around without fear of something you don't want becoming visible becoming visible - whilst still catering for those who are more adventurous in the form of asymmetrical cut capes.
The more I look at it the more I love it. Is it too early to say it's one of my favourite upcoming offerings for this season? Maybe, but I'm more than impressed and I hope you guys are too. The collection has been instore from July 13th so if you fancy planning ahead check it out.
